Dumelang! Hello! Kia Ora!

My name is Phodiso Dintwe, I am a videographer and I teach Southern Afrikan dance. I'm putting this event together to raise funds for my project, 'Thebe Boswa - Shielding Heritage'.

I will be returning to Southern Afrika in September to reconnect with my heritage and family. While I'm over there I'll be filming as much of the dance culture as I can, while engaging with it all myself. This is because I firmly believe that dance has been one of the great ways my people keep connectivity with one another. And so in filming it, I get to keep a record of my experiences, but I also get to share it with you all. The footage gained will also be used as a teaching resource. I have been for the most part teaching kids of high school age, and wish to gain deeper knowledge so I can then in turn, offer them more.

TL;DR. I'm going back to the Motherland and I need your help :)

We'll be kicking the night off with some live Afro drumming paired with vocals from the Tswana, Igbo and Shona tongues - and some dancers will be there to entertain too ;) So if good rhythms mean anything to you, then this is the place to be!
